Unique SSV Y-body

The Alfa Laval Unique SSV Y-body is a versatile, reliable pneumatic single seat valve with a single contact surface between the plug and the seat to minimize the risk of contamination. Its compact, modular and hygienic design meets the highest process demands in terms of hygiene and safety.

Built on the well-proven Alfa Laval Unique SSV platform, the Unique SSV Y-body provides uninterrupted flow and gentle handling of products that are highly viscous or contain large particles and require gentle product treatment. Few moving parts ensure easy dismantling, high reliability and low maintenance costs. A wide range of optional features enables customization to specific process requirements. This robust single seat valve is designed for uninterrupted flow and gentle handling of products that are highly viscous or contain large particles in hygienic applications across the dairy, food, beverage, brewery and many other industries.

Unique SSV Aseptic

Fully modular with the proven design of the Unique SSV the aseptic single seat valve is equipped with a hermetic sealing diaphragm that ensures true aseptic conditions during operation. It hermetically seals against intrusion from the atmosphere and ensures full protection against the effects of microorganisms

With a “sandwich construction” of PTFE on the product side, EPDM and an enforcing mesh, the aseptic diaphragm is optimized to guarantee reliable performance and long lifetime. In open position the one-piece diaphragm is mechanically supported by the valve to reduce wear and increase endurance.

The Unique SSV Aseptic valve is available in both pneumatic and manual configurations.

Operating principle

The Alfa Laval Unique SSV is an air-operated seat valve that is remotely operated by means of compressed air. The valve generally has two working ports for air supply in and for process air supply; for changeover valves, a third port is required.
