The AUTO-XTS is a high-quality machine offering a safe and user-friendly way to measure seamsYour cans are effortlessly and methodically moved through a series of measurement stations and checks.  

The AUTO-XTS offers accurate double seam measurement, allowing you to assess seam thickness, countersink depth, seam height, body hook, cover hook, overlap, seam gap, % body hook butting, wrinkle detection and tightness monitoring. It increases the accuracy of your testing and reduces both labor and spoilage, saving you time and money. 

Plus, it’s a safer option too! Protecting you from seam saws, metal burrs, or seam teardowns​.

Our unique radial measurement technology 

The AUTO-XTS uses a unique radial measurement system, instead of a tangential approach. It offers you the most accurate, single-point measurement for objective wrinkle detection and tightness monitoring.  

The single point inspection setup eliminates focus issues and makes it possible to measure larger diameter ends.  

High-tech robot handling system

Imagine your canning line powered up with a high-tech robot handling system. Smart, safe and sustainable, the AUTO-XTS can be attached to the conveyor of any canning line or used as a stand-alone device.

How the AUTO-XTS works

Our robot handling system moves filled beverage cans through the following measurement stations.  

  1.  Countersink depth and seam thickness measurement (station #1): countersink depth and seam thickness measurements are taken in up to 36 locations around the can.
  1.  X-ray imaging (station #2): our safe, low power x-ray imaging technology measures the internal parameters of a can’s seam, without damaging the contents.
  1.  Accept or reject cans (station #3): cans are ordered through our accept or reject cans outfeed. Either by head number onto a conveyor for online systems, or into a carrying basket for manually loaded systems.

Seam inspection data collection 

Our powerful Visionary QC™ Pro SPC software is used across thousands of sites around the world. It collects instantly available data and presents it in an easy-to-read and understand touch-screen format.  

Alarmingly good fault finding

The AUTO-XTS triggers alarms to ensure any potential defects are communicated immediately so that operators can make any necessary adjustments to the line.
